Should Women use Sex as a weapon

Sex as a weapon, definitely one of the things we need to talk about. Sex is a a very common aspect of most relationships. It is the aspect of the relationship that most find to be the most enjoyable and one that can really bring a couple closer together. Yet, it is also the aspect of a relationship that can equally tear a couple apart. You see, in a relationship this specific activity has to be agreed upon by both parties, both people willingly agree to engage themselves in having sex. Yet, what we find sometimes is that one party may not necessarily be up to having sex for one reason or another.

Well today, the focus is on the ladies. Women tend to use sex as a way to coerce their men into getting their way. If they want something to happen then they know that this would be the perfect opportunity to get their man to do it. They figure that if the guy wants it bad enough then he will do exactly what it is she wants, so she uses sex as a tool to get her way. Is it right for a woman to use her body or sexuality rather as a means to get her way?

Another example on the way women tend to use their sexuality as a weapon is when they are upset. When a woman is angry, her sexual drive tends to find it’s way out the door, which bascially means that the guy isn’t getting any. This is as real as it gets. Is it right for a married woman that is supposed to be one with her husband, keep herself away from him in that sense?

It’s amazing the way that guys can go all googoo gaga over women and not even realize the traps that they are being led into. So both ladies and gents what do you think, should sex be used a weapon in any shape or form in a relationship. If no, then why? And if yes, then why and when should it be used?

Don’t be afraid to speak your mind, this is what it’s about!

Second Chances, Do we really Believe in that?

Posted by TheAuthor | Posted in Faith, Hot Topics, News | Posted on 21-08-2009

secondChancesSecond chances, do we really believe in that or is it just a saying? Is it really a Human Right? Over the past few weeks I have been hearing different people’s point of view and opinion in regards to Michael Vick’s signing with the Eagles. What exactly is the problem, I don’t know! I thought we were a people of second chances or least that’s what I have thought it to be growing up.  I guess my question is who should be given a second chance and who shouldn’t? Who decides when to it is granted or not? It is very easy to point fingers and blame others for the wrong they have done in their life, can you just imagine that God only allow us one chance and that’s it, or if HE decides what we should have a second chance for? I am not sure about you all but I don’t think God put a limit on what we get second chances for.

We have deliberately crucified him again and again and right after we ask for forgiveness and expected to be forgiven. What about our fellow men do we do the same as they wrong us and expect us to forgive them? Just as a story goes in the bible, please don’t quote me (lol) about a man who was in debt and he pleaded his case to the King and the King free him of all his debts however, that same man had someone that owed him as well, instead of doing the same thing the King did for him he didn’t. Why don’t we do to others as we would like do to us? Please understand I am not saying that people should do things and get away with it.

 Questions:

Second chances, does it really apply when it is in reference to us?

What should we get second chances for?

Who decides that?

Let me know what you think….

Must we still observe the Lord’s sabbath or are we free to choose our own day of worship? What does the Bible say?

For many years, people have been going back and forth on what day is the right day of rest. Yet, the answer is quite clear and unchangeable when you simply go back and visit the word of God, which is found in none other than the holy bible. Many people have their opinions on this matter, but the bible does make it clear. Before we even begin this topic, there is something that I must remind you. God says if we love him than we will follow his commandments. For so long so many people have been following what “man” has established and have completely forgotten about what God asks of us. So let’s go back and look at the word of God to see what he says about the day in which we should rest in him.

The Sabbath was established since the very beginning, Genesis 2:2 says, By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested [a] from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

If you pick up any calendar and look at the days of the week, you will see that the first day of the week is Sunday and the seventh day is Saturday.

In the laws given to Moses, what we know as the 10 commandments God also reminded us again the day in which he has asked us to rest, let’s take a look : Exodus 20:8

8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

You see God was already aware that people would forget about what day he had asked them to rest on, which is why he placed it as his 4th commandment. No where in the bible has God asked anyone to keep another day holy. If you can find it let us know!

When Jesus walked this earth, he also worshipped on a specific day, as we all know Jesus was a Jew and he attended the synagogue during the Sabbath, still observing the day that was set from the very beginning of time.

“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” Luke 4:16.

Many people even bring up the argument on whether the 10 commandments have been changed or abolished?

Well let’s take a look at what the bible tells us:

Jesus says: “And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.” Luke 16:17. God says: “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” Psalms 89:34. Notice, the Ten Commandments came from His lips.

So you see, according to the bible we see that God hasn’t established any other day to keep holy but the Sabbath day.

We will continue to discuss this topic further…Trust me when I say there is so much more to come.

The importance of Spiritual Growth

CB064037The importance of Spiritual Growth This is the first of two devotionals developed from a 2 part session taught at Lifeline Christian fellowship on May 23, 2008 Heb 5:11 “Of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.” In the world of science there are seven main characteristics of Life. Without one of these, then there is no life. One of these characteristic is growth. A child of God, having entered a new life – the life of Christ is expected to demonstrate growth in this life. This is very important not only to the individual but also to the Church, the body of Christ, since the numerical growth of the Church is dependent on the growth of each individual. Every believer should desire to grow, such that he reaches a place in God where he can teach what he has learnt. A growing child of God, once he has been taught, will not need to be taught again but will go forth and teach that which he has learnt, thereby making disciples to Christ. This teaching is not only verbal but reflected in, actions, attitudes and lifestyles. According to 1 Pet.2:1-2, a growing Christian is one who knows how to make decisions, that is, to take actions based on what he has heard. Therefore, he will always be making decisions In order to grow one must make the following decisions: i.Watches What he says ii.Not speak evil of others iii.Have a strong passion for the word of God. Finally, a growing Christian is Spiritual. According to 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 Christians who are not showing signs of Growth are referred to as being carnal, babes, not able to receive the solid food(teachings) that they should have been receiving. No one of us as children of God should desire to fall into this category. The questions I need to ask myself this week are: i.Am I a growing Christian? ii.What comes out of my mouth? Does it represent a heart that is being changed and becoming more like Christ? iii.Can I take the Strong meat/teachings that I receive or does it offend me? Do I speak evil of others or do I seek the good in and speak well of others My challenge to you for this week is that you make a conscious effort to apply what you’ve learnt in order to help yourself grow God Bless

How to make lasagna?

Posted by TheAuthor | Posted in Food, Hot Topics, News | Posted on 19-08-2009

There are so many different recipes for lasagna’s on the web, but the goal here at the things we talk about is to find the easiest way to make something. So here is my best take on how to make a delicious dish of lasagna. Note: This recipe is for everyone even those that are afraid to cook. Also this recipe is copyrighted.

Here it goes:

This recipe can be done two ways, one where meat is used and the other where no meat is used. It’s really up to you.

Without meat:

1.  Chop up some onions,  green peppers, red peppers, fresh thyme.

2. Take a pot and pour in your Ragu sauce into the pot, while your ragu sauce begins to cook, take a box of mixed vegetables (frozen) and place it into your sauce.

3. Once that starts to cook, place your onions, green peppers, red peppers, fresh thyme into the sauce. Add some ADOBO Goya to the mix to give it that extra taste. Be careful not to put too much because it can make your sauce too salty.

4. Now while your sauce is simmering. Place another pot filled with water to boil and add some oil, and a little bit of salt.

5. The water shouldn’t take long to boil but once it is place your lasagna into the water. Make sure you place the lasagna one by one.

6. Now let the lasagna cook. Once that’s cooked, this is where it gets tricky, lasagna tends to stick together so you have to keep it in the water, let the water cool a little before sticking your hand in it.

7. Take your oven ware and spray it with PAM or butter spray, whichever you prefer.

8. Place your first layer of lasagna, next place the sauce on top. Now it’s time for your shredded cheese, I like to use different 3 different kinds and it really depends on how I feel. One cheese that is necessary to have is the Ricotta Cheese.

9. Place your ricotta cheese first and then add your shredded cheese on top. Now add your other layer of lasagna and continue this process.

10. Once you add all your layers, the very top layer should consist of the shredded cheese. Now it’s time to place it in the oven.

11. By the way, make sure your oven is preheated to 400 degrees. When your oven is preheated, the lasagna will be ready quicker.

12. Let it bake for about 30-35 minutes.

13. Once it’s bake, take it out of the oven, let it cool and then it will be ready to eat.

With meat:

Follow same steps just add meat to your sauce and let it cook a bit longer, remember cook it a medium heat, and add water as you go, not too much, because you want your sauce to be thick.

Good luck!
