Labeling – is it at all necessary?

I read this heading from the Washington Post stating “Illegal immagrant to be charged for Levy murder”. I feel for the parents and  I’m also glad they will at least have some closure in regards to their daughter’s death.

But tell me something though, I have read and heard on the news many times, Haitian-american man or a  Cuban-american,  an African American or a Hispanic or any other nationality did this and that. I guess my question is why do we have to label or rather racially profile somenoe. Why can’t it just be man charged with this and that? Why does it have to be african-american, immigrant, asian-american? Someone please tell me is there something wrong with that.
