Jasmine Murray and Jorge Nunez were the first to go on American Idol

Last night, for those of you who watched, watched two of the nicest people on American Idol go home last night. They sang the night previously based on a Michael Jackson theme performance and unfortunately they finished last in the American Idol race. Jasmine Murray is a 16 year old girl from Starkville, Mississippi, and Jorge Nunez is from Puerto Rico. This year American Idol actually announced a new twist to the show. The judges have been granted an opportunity to save a contestant if they happen to be in the bottom two. If they do then that means that the following week two contestants will be going home. Both Jasmine and Jorge were not saved last night because they had the least amount of viewer votes so they both were sent home packing. This new twist I guess came about because of what happened to both Jennifer Hudson and Daughtry from the past American Idol, they hadn’t won the race but they are definitely at the top of their game. Stay tuned for more American Idol News.
