The exchange of gifts is always a pleasant ordeal and the exchange of gifts between President Obama and Queen Elizabeth was no different. Queen Elizabeth presented The First Family, with a signed portrait and President Obama presented the queen with an IPOD. This I would definitely say is a signature American gesture. The IPOD contained pictures and videos from her visit in 2007 to Washington and Virginia. Her majesty was very happy about her meeting with President Obama and wife Michelle, she held a banquet for all the world leaders, and President Obama let reporters know by shouting that “It was a wonderful visit” and the queen is “delightful.”

Enough! Are there not enough women in this world, that a man has to revert to sleeping, raping, and fathering children with his own daughter? This time, it’s a farmer from Colombia that is being accused of raping his daughter since she was 5 years old. She is now 35 years old, and he has fathered her eight children. The father is pleading innocent, and necessary steps are being taken to find out if in fact, they are related. So many cases like this are happening all around the world and even maybe in our own neighborhoods. It’s important that we don’t remain innocent bystanders in these situations. Ok…what is this world really coming to? Over the last few weeks, more and more crimes have been reporting happening in nursing homes. On sunday, in North Carolina, a man shot and killed eight people in a nursing home, seven patients and a nurse. The man that’s being  accused of carrying out the attack is 45-year-old Robert Stewart, which is now in custody. According to reports, Robert Stewart isn’t an employee of Pinelake Health and Rehab Center, which is where the shooting happened, and it’s said that he isn’t related to any of the patients. There is so much left to be known about why this man performed such heinous acts. This man faces up to eight counts of first degree murder and one count for felony assault on a police officer.

Recall, we’ve been talking about the man from Austria, Josef Fritzl that had been keeping his daughter in a cellar for 24 years, and had committed the act of incest with her and fathered her 7 children, and had been charged with murdering their newborn baby. Well it has been reported that Josef Fritzl was found guilty on all charges and he will be spending the rest of his life behind bars. He had six charges against him and the verdict was a unaninmous one. He was found guilty on all six charges. On Wednesday in fact, Fritzl did change his plea from nonguilty on certain charges to guilty on all charges. Elisabeth, his daughter testified against him through a videotape, and it wasn’t until he saw the tape that he changed his plea. He was charged with murder because he did not seek medical help for the baby that was breathing heavily and later died. If he had seeked medical help then he  perhaps wouldn’t have been charged with murder. He was also charged with incest, rape, involvement in slave trade, and withdrawal of liberty.

A few days ago, it was reported that actress, Natasha Richardson was in a tragic ski accident near Montral, Canada where she was learning how to ski. She fell on her head but decided to go lay down for a while and then was later rushed to the hospital. She was transported to a New York hospital from Canada. Today, her family decided to take her of of life support. It is said by doctors that perhaps a blood vessel bursted in her brain and because she wasn’t treated right away this caused her to have permanent brain damage. We ask that you please keep this family in your prayers in their time of need.

Yesterday, we talked about Fritzl, the man from Austria that had his daughter locked up in a cellar for 24 years, where he raped, abused and fathered her seven children all while still being married and having seven other kids with his wife. This case had been presented last year when one of his children were having convulsions and needed to go to the hospital. It was at this time that authorities were contacted because something had seemed to be odd. Fritzl admitted to raping his daughter and keeping his kids captive for all of those years. He may also be convicted of murdering  newborn infant that he fathered with Elisabeth, his daughter, which may very well cause him to be sentenced to life in prison. Fritzl now faces charges of rape, murder, incest, assault, and slave trade.

There are a lot of sick people in this world and we hope that justice will be served.
