Well tonight, two people were sent home, since the judges saved someone last week. Tonight it was bye bye Lil Rounds and then Anoop Desai said goodbye to his American Idol dreams. We weren’t too surprised about Lil Rounds since she got so much bad criticism from the judges and well Anoop was never on my list to make it to the finals. Now there is only one chic left to represent the girls, and she was in the bottom three. So what this means for the ladies this year, who knows, I guess the guys will have another year in a row. Speaking of guys, runner up David Archuletta also performed on tonight’s show and I can so see why he didn’t win, not that I’m hating, the performance just wasn’t that great. So who got cut tonight from dancing with the stars? Drum roll…..after tonight we are down to six and it was Lawrence Taylor that went home. It was between Lawrence and Ty that were in the bottom tow that were at risk to go home but tonight was Lawrence’s turn to put up his dancing shoes. Lawrence worked really hard all season and did always tried to put his best foot forward when he performed. We wish him the best of luck !!!

Ok, so tonight was disco night on American Idol, and this was a very pleasant show to watch tonight in my opinion. It was pretty dull and boring if you asked me and it seemed that a lot of the singers were really not in their comfort zone and some opted to not go disco all together. The top contender tonight would definitely be Kris Allen, according to Paula and Simon. He really did a good job with his vocals, singing “She works hard for the money.” Simon actually thought that it was a fantastic performance. Adam Lambert also seemed to be coming into his own, he also got some good reviews from the judges, Kara said “You’re brilliant. I don’t know what else to say,” Kara DioGuardi said, then added “Every week you up it for me. You look like the guy from ‘Saturday Night Live’ meets Clark Kent. The emotion, the way you connected, it’s inspiring.” Danny Gokey, one of my personal favs, also did a good job tonight as he usually does but unfortunately Simon said that it lacked star power, whatever that means. I still think he’ll make it far. Allison got some good reviews as well, Randy actually thinks that she’s the best singer in the competition. Matt Giraud, not so hot, Simon thought his performance lacked originality and poor Lil Rounds got slammed again by the judges. They didn’t think she did a good job at all either. Anoop Desai, Kara loved his performance while Simon thought it was his worst yet. So we really have to wait and see what America has to say about this one.

What happened tonight on dacing with the stars? A whole lot!! Tonight, we have a new couple that took the lead and it’s becoming harder and harder to hide any more poor dancing skills. Tonight was definitely the Bachelor’s Melissa Rycroft that took the lead with a solid score of 29. Her and her partner did a wonderful job doing the Argentine tango and she was able to receive some tips from Teri Hatcher from the hit show “Desperate Housewives”. Lawrence Taylor, which may very well be next to go since he hasn’t been doing that great receieved a score of 21. Lil Kim and her partner Derek, contiued with her good streak and received a score of 26, which is average for her and her partner. She also tried to tone down on her sex appeal, but outside of her dancing abilities that the only other thing she really has going for her. Chuck Wicks and his girlfriend Julianne Hough got a score of 27 for their samba, Len told him he thought this was his best performance ever. Ty got a 24 this week for his dance and may be in the bottom two this week, maybe. Shawn Johnson received a score of 28, which puts her in second place this week. Gilles Marini and his partner Cheryl Burke who were doing incredibly well early on in the competition didn’t finish first for the past few weeks and really need to bring back their “A” game because they do have some serious competition out there. They received a score of 27, which tied them with Chuck. Tomorrow night, we will find out the results and see who goes home this week. Can’t wait to find out. Who will be number 1 this weekend? April 24, 2009, the movie The Soloist, which is starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. is going to be in theaters and also the movie Obsessed starring Beyonce Knowles. I have been waiting to watch these two movies but they both come out the same day. I wonder if Jamie’s comments on Miley Cyrus will affect the outcome of his movie. I don’t know if some people won’t go and see it just because of what he said about 16 year old Miley, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see which movie turns up number 1 in the box office this weekend. I think I might go see Obsessed first and then consider The Soloist, sorry Jamie, B wins in this one. I just hope I made the right decision.
