Ok let me be the first to say that week after week this show is getting better and better, at least the dancing is for the most part. There is really some competition happening and some definite contenders to look out for. Gilles and Cheryl Burke got a 30/30 tonight and it was very much deserved, they performed that argentine tango flawlessly and it was beautifully executed. Another top score was given to Melissa Rycroft and her partner Toni Davolani, which received a 29/30, they performed the lindy hop and it was very entertaining. My other favorite couple was Lil Kim and her partner, Derek Hough. Another couple that gave good performances was the olympian Shawn Johnson and her partner, Mark Ballas. Overall, I would rate tonight’s show to be a B. I can’t wait to find out who’s going home tomorrow night! Stay tuned for the update.

In Atlanta, T.I, the rapper, is sentenced to one year and a day in prison after he pleaded guilty to federal weapons charges. T.I. was arrested in 2007 after trying to purchase unregistered machine guns to protect himself after his best friend had been killed. He wasn’t charged until today, because as part of his deal he had to fulfill his duties in performing his community service project which was shown on MTV. T.I will need to report to jail sometime after May 19. He has done over 1000 hours in community service, where he’s talked to young people about drugs, guns and violence. T.I said that “everything he learned was through trial and error.” We hope that he has truly learned one of life’s biggest lessons. Violence is never the way to go.

Hey TTWTA readers, happy friday!

Last night, our very own President Barack Obama appeared on the Jay Leno show. Last night’s show, was pretty interesting to watch since it allowed us to see the side of a president that many no longer see once they get into office. I don’t believe there has been any other president that has appeared on a late night show once they’ve actually become president so this was probably another first for our country. Now waking up this morning, many people have their own point of view or take on the president actually doing the show. Some feel like maybe our president shouldn’t be joking or having a good time during these tough economic times. Yet, some feel like they can relate so much more to the President because he honestly seem like he’s as real as they get. He talked about his experience on Air Force One and how he got to wear the jacket with the eagle on it, and he also talked about Sasha and Malia that didn’t seemed that impressed, but like any kid their age their excited more about the smaller things, which I thought was adorable. The president also compared the people at Washington to Simon Cowell, which was pretty funny I thought, but yet he also talked about some very serious things as well, like AIG.

Tonight was very predictable on American Idol. Alexis Grace recieved the least amounts of votes and the judges decided not to save her based on her last performance, which I believe was much worse than her performance from last night. Well I know this is kinda of a late notice but E! and many others are reporting that Rihanna and Chris Brown decided to take a break. After going through all of these ups but more downs these past few weeks, Rihanna decided to come to the east coast to take a break from Chris. Last week, thursday Rihanna was spotted having dinner with pals, Brandy, Beyonce and Jay Z, while Chris is back in LA supposedly at the studio recording. Who knows what will come from all of this but hopefully Rihanna does make the best decision for herself.

Last night on American we got to see the remaining 11 contestants compete for their chance to be the next American Idol. Personally, I thought overall everyone could have done a much better job but I did have some personal favorites from last night’s performance. Last night, everyone went country and Randy Travis served as their mentor. One of my favorites of the night was the last performer Matt Giraud, which did a really good job in my opinion, the other was Anoop Desai, which Simon said went from a zero to a hero in a week and he took back what he said about Anoop not deserving to be there. Also Danny Gokey did a fine job singing Carrie Underwood’s song, Jesus take the wheel. Overall I would have to give last night’s show a C. The others well, we’ll just have to wait and see how America feels about them.
