Are the 10 commandments abolished?

If you are asking Are the 10 commandments abolished you need to read your bible more.

According to the Bible, the one in which was inspired by God, we find that God’s law is eternal because they reveal the Holy character of God himself. His laws never change and will never be changed. This is the reason why when Adam and Eve sinned in the very beginning, God knew that he had to send his only son to die on our behalf.

If God did not provide us with his law, how exactly do we know how we measure up and according to what would we be judged? Grace was provided to us when we transgressed the laws of God, if there were no laws then there would be no necessary grace. Sin is the transgression of God’s law.

“By the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20. “I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.” Romans 7:7.

Many people believe that when Jesus came and died for us on the cross that God’s laws were abolished because he had accomplished his mission. According to the word of God this is far from the truth. Jesus tells us that he didn’t come to destroy the law but to fulfill it.

Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Matthew 5:17, 18.

Jesus magnified the law by living right by it. He is used as our prime example of how the law of God should be followed. When we say that we love God, do we really mean it. How is it that we are proving this to him. God said if you love me, keep my commandments John 14:15.

God proved to us his love by sending his only son to die for us on the cross, and this is the way that we can show God in return how much we love him and that is by keeping his commandments. Don’t find excuses to keep his commands, because God never finds excuses when it comes to us.

God Bless,
