Caterer Hire – Tips And Advice

If you are planning a party for a large number of people, unless you are a particularly gifted chef, it is likely that you will want to hire some catering services to provide food, drinks and snacks for your guests to enjoy during the occasion. The problem with choosing a caterer is much like the problems we all find when looking for a good restaurant; how do we know if the food is any good and are the prices equally as good? Below is a list of considerations when looking to hire a caterer.

The first thing you need to do is to obtain a list of possible candidates that are able to provide a catering service for your occasion. Catering services should be booked far in advance as they can be busy, so you need to find out which companies are available for the exact dates you require. Obtaining a list of potential suppliers means searching local business directories, the internet and also asking family and friends for recommendations. If you previously went to a party and enjoyed the food provided, you can possibly try to contact the party planner to obtain contact information for their caterer.

Now your task is to reduce that list down to 2 to 4 possible caterers. To do this you need to make a few decisions yourself as to your budget, the type of food you would like and the kind of service you require. Do you want a buffet style service or a set menu served to each guest? Will you need specially prepared dishes for certain guests such as vegetarians or nut allergy sufferers? What is your budget? Will you require only snacks or hors d’œuvres to provide your guests or a full 3 or more course meal? Find out which companies can provide the service you want and discard any that can not, or you feel would not be the right choice for your party.

Next you need to make a decision based on your shortlist and to do this you should ask the potential caterers some more probing questions. You should ask each one to provide details of how they will manage your specific event, including the number of staff that they will use to serve food and drinks. You could also ask for some references from previous customers to obtain some (hopefully) unbiased opinions of the service they received. Finally, it may be possible to visit their business premises and possibly try a sample of their food to gauge for yourself their catering abilities.

Boner Billy?s, Famous Hot Dogs backs up a good laugh with great tasting food. What sets Boner Billy?s Famous Hot Dogs apart from the norm, beside its Mobile Food Service Vehicle (MFSV) business model is the fact they have carefully crafted a theme. The theme is based around the legendary, ?Boner Billy?, an American hero and his faithful sidekick ?Chubby.? Boner Billy?s is supported by a crazy food menu of funny names and a whole line of theme gifts and apparel designed rattle your funny bone. I think it is safe to say, in these tough times we could all use a good laugh. Boner Billy?s is by far the funniest thing I have seen in a long time, fresh and drop to the ground laughing fun.

The Boner Billy’s Famous Hot Dogs name just about says it all, a risqu?, on the edge, yet, not over the top fun theme. Boner Billy?s carefully walks the line and keeps it tasteful, funny, and for the whole family with a bonus of great food. The Boner Billy?s business model takes the Boner Billy?s theme right to their customers via a Mobile Food Service Vehicle (MFSV), which is one of the fastest growing industries. The people at Boner Billy?s play it smart by offering Boner Billy?s themed shirts, hats, etc. alongside a great line up of food. It is funny but I could not for a moment imagine buying or wearing a McDonald’s or Burger King tee shirt or hat. With Boner Billy?s It?s hard to resist not buying a shirt, hat, or other gift item because it?s just so funny!!!!

The Marsh Robert Group, (MRG), R&D team has successfully blended food and fun in the same mouthwatering bite. MRG Project director, Richard Van Dyke told us; ?People are always looking for different options when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat. When we put the idea in to motion we said lets deliver fun and food in the same bite. Fun and tasty food was our theme and we feel we have achieved that.? America?s love with fast food just grows and grows, and shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, over 25 percent of Americans consume fast food every day. Despite the global financial turmoil, the US fast food industry grew at a rate of around 4% year-on-year in 2009. Our research has found that the overall fast food market is expected to grow in coming years and will cross the US$ 170 Billion mark by 2010.

Mobile Food Service Vehicles have become a popular way of delivering quality food with the advantage of moving locations to meet market demands. MFSV growth is exploding nationwide. Boner Billy?s is set to run mobile units and will soon be offering franchise opportunities. This is a bandwagon you might want to jump on as the model is being shopped, www.bonerbillys.com

Hiring A Caterer

Choosing a caterer to take care of food and refreshments for your event isn?t a particularly hard job, but it?s worth giving it a bit of time and thought to make sure you get the best possible service. Our guide offers some top tips for choosing the right caterer. Firstly, know your event inside out. Think about what you?re looking for and make sure you know when and where it will be held so caterers will be able to tell you straight away whether or not they?re available.

You should think about your event in detail so you can give as much information as possible to your prospective caterers. You should know whether it will be a social or professional occasion and whether you want a buffet or a more formal meal. Also consider the requirements of your guests ? are any of them vegetarian or do they have religious food needs? You could also consider whether or not your event will have a theme as some caterers specialize in that sort of thing.

Your next task to make a list of all the caterers who could do the job. It?s a good idea to get recommendations from friends or colleagues as word of mouth can often be the best advertising. If you have a florist or hired venue for your event, you should also ask them if there are any good caterers they work with regularly as they often have established professional relationships. Failing that, you can get a comprehensive list of caterers from the internet or your phone book.

Now you need to whittle down your list of caterers to a few top choices. Work through the list and call each option, making sure you tell them as much as you can about your event so they can give you an informed response as to whether they?d be able to accommodate you. Also make sure they?re insured and hold liquor licenses if necessary, and make sure that they can work within your budget. Ask them lots of questions so you get a feel for them and their work.

Next, eliminate all the unsuitable options from your list. Then arrange face-to-face meetings with all the remaining caterers to talk about the event and your needs in detail. Look at photographs of their previous events and get them to come up with a catering proposal. Then you can compare several options and make sure you?re getting the best deal available. All good caterers will be happy to accommodate you, so this can be a good test as well as letting you see at a glance which option is best.

Rice with Red Kidney Beans Recipe

Hey you guys, this is a very easy recipe if you want to make some rice and some red kidney beans or any beans for that matter. This recipe has a West Indian twist to it, it tastes delicious and I hope you enjoy it.

Rice with Red Kidney Beans

1.       Wash your kidney beans with water. (2 washes)

2.       Put kidney beans to boil, don’t forget to cover the pot, it boils quicker!

3.       Check the beans after about 20-30 minutes to see if they are tender, (it shouldn’t be mushed)

4.       Once beans are tender, drain the beans but don’t throw away the water in which the beans were boiled (Very important)!

5.       Now it’s time to fry the beans, no need for too much oil, just enough for the beans to fry in.

6.       While the beans are frying it’s time to start putting in your spices

(how to prepare your very own homemade spices will be coming soon).

-Some spices to consider

                Goya ADOBO collection

7.       Once the beans are done frying with the spices, time to put in your coconut milk, yes coconut milk, no need to put too much, that means don’t put in the whole can, not even half the can, just enough to cover the beans.

8.       Let the beans simmer in the coconut milk for about a minute or two.

9.       Now it’s time to pour back the bean water back into the pot.

10.   Once you pour the bean water back make sure you check to see if it needs more salt (this truly depends on you).

11.   Now once the water begins to boil, you know it’s time to pour in your rice.

12.   When pouring the rice, you know you have enough once the rice makes a hat over the water.  Stir to make sure you haven’t been deceived. Pour as needed.

13.   Now let the rice cook in water for a little bit on High to medium heat.

14.   Once the water starts to disappear it’s time to cover the rice so it can steam.

15.   Let the rice cook and steam for about 30 to 40 minutes.

16.   Go and check to make sure your rice is cooked and if it is then your ready to eat!!!

17.   And if it’s edible then you have definitely done this right!!

Good luck!!!

God's Health Plan For Us

Posted by TheAuthor | Posted in All Hottest & Latest Topics, Food, News, Religion, Spiritual Growth | Posted on 09-03-2009

1

Does God have a health plan for us? This is something that many people discuss and argue about all the time. Since the beginning of time God has always had a health plan for his children. In the beginning of time, God gave Adam and Eve before sin what it is that they could eat and couldn’t eat. ”And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed … and every tree … yielding seed.” “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.” Genesis 1:29; 2:16. When sin entered the Earth, the plan shifted just a bit but it still remained in the realms of things that are clean vs. those that are unclean. In Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14, it talks about all of those animals that are considered clean and those that are unclean. Those that are clean are good to eat and those that are unclean was never intended by God to be a part of our diet. For example some animals that are considered clean would be chicken, beef, fish with scales and fins, etc. Some of which are considered unclean would be pork, lobsters, shellfish, things that creep the earth, are considered to be unclean and shouldn’t be eaten.

An additional argument that’s made was that this was only intended for the Jews and no one else. Well if we go back to the time of Noah, Noah was very well aware of the animals that were considered clean and unclean and this was obviously way before Jews were even in existence.

So what does all of this mean? What this means is that God, the creator of all things, including you knows what is good for you and what isn’t. He knows the purpose of each animal that he created and exactly what their function should be. So if you say you love God, then isn’t important to do what he asks of you.
