Memorization tools and techniques for visual learners!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to come back and share another cool technique that I have picked up along the way!

Another technique that I have found that has worked, especially when it comes to memorizing is what I like to call “The power of visualization.” Many times we find ourselves incapable of remembering certain things because we don’t care about them enough. At least that’s what I found my problem to be.

I would study something but couldn’t for the life of me remember what I studied because I never made that connection with it. Well I learned to stop being careless and to really think about what I was reading and to actually close my eyes and picture the words that I was seeing on the paper. I know it may sound silly, but I’m a firm believer that it works. All you need to do is really think about the words that you are reading, by doing this you are forcing your brain to function actively rather than passively.

Don’t just read something and expect to remember it but read it, think about, picture it, give it characteristics if you have to, make it important to you and you will notice that you will remember it not only today but tomorrow and the day after…Oh and something I almost forgot to mention…Repetition, don’t just do this once…but revisit what you learned today, tomorrow and the day after using this technique and you will surely come to know it!

P.S. or Disclaimer I should say: These techniques are only meant to help you….if you feel like they are not working after you have earnestly given them a chance then discontinue to use them and find something that is better suited for you, but I am only trying to help anyone who is looking for a better or another way to study more effectively!
