Will God destroy you if you eat pork or unclean foods??

This week we are focused on God’s health plan for us. God has given the things that he provided for us to eat and the  things that he doesn’t want us to eat. You can find the list in Leviticus 11 in your bible. One of the things that I find that people say a lot is that “oh but I love pork”or ” how can you not eat “pork”? Well folks, what I’m about to say may shock you terribly and it may also change your life. God is a God of love, let us never forget that but he also has provided us with rules and standards or rather a manual on how we should live our lives, which of course can be found in the bible. Therefore if you deliberately find ways or excuses to disobey God then at the end of time, he has no other choice but to destroy you. If you open up your bible to Isaiah 66:15-17, you will find what exactly will happen to you if you don’t give up the things that God said aren’t good for you.

It reads:15 See, the LORD is coming with fire,

       and his chariots are like a whirlwind;
he will bring down his anger with fury,
and his rebuke with flames of fire.

16 For with fire and with his sword
the LORD will execute judgment upon all men,
and many will be those slain by the LORD.

17 ”Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following the one in the midst of [a] those who eat the flesh of pigs and rats and other abominable things—they will meet their end together,” declares the LORD.

You can easily click on www.niv.org to find this verse for yourself and check.

You see it says that those that are “swine’s flesh or pig flesh” or the “mouse” and other unclean animals are an abomination and will be destroyed by fire. Think of it like this Adam and Eve were forbidden to eat a specific fruit in the garden and by blatantly disobeying God, they brought in sin and death into the world. Now do you see where their actions led us? So now how about yours, where will it lead you?

God's Health Plan For Us

Posted by TheAuthor | Posted in All Hottest & Latest Topics, Food, News, Religion, Spiritual Growth | Posted on 09-03-2009

Does God have a health plan for us? This is something that many people discuss and argue about all the time. Since the beginning of time God has always had a health plan for his children. In the beginning of time, God gave Adam and Eve before sin what it is that they could eat and couldn’t eat. ”And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed … and every tree … yielding seed.” “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.” Genesis 1:29; 2:16. When sin entered the Earth, the plan shifted just a bit but it still remained in the realms of things that are clean vs. those that are unclean. In Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14, it talks about all of those animals that are considered clean and those that are unclean. Those that are clean are good to eat and those that are unclean was never intended by God to be a part of our diet. For example some animals that are considered clean would be chicken, beef, fish with scales and fins, etc. Some of which are considered unclean would be pork, lobsters, shellfish, things that creep the earth, are considered to be unclean and shouldn’t be eaten.

An additional argument that’s made was that this was only intended for the Jews and no one else. Well if we go back to the time of Noah, Noah was very well aware of the animals that were considered clean and unclean and this was obviously way before Jews were even in existence.

So what does all of this mean? What this means is that God, the creator of all things, including you knows what is good for you and what isn’t. He knows the purpose of each animal that he created and exactly what their function should be. So if you say you love God, then isn’t important to do what he asks of you.

Do we need to keep the commandments if we are already saved by grace?

One of the biggest problems that humanity faces is not the recession, it’s not the HIV/AIDS pandemic but in fact it’s sin. We all fall under the umbrella of sin, regardless of your color, creed, values, ethics, etc. We are all sinners. The only way we could remove this sin from ourselves is through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God sent his only son to die for us on the cross and he bore all of our sins on that cross, and through his death we have been cleansed. Only through Jesus Christ is salvation provided. He is the one that has provided us with grace that allows us to even think about what a future on a new earth could look like. Without this grace we could not be saved, this fact remains true. So now that we know we are saved by grace, how does the commandments come into play. Do they matter? Have they been abolished? Can we still make it to heaven even if we don’t follow them to the letter. Please feel free to leave comments on how you feel about such an important topic that I feel people are just afraid to discuss. Let us know because this is definitely something we need to talk about.

I don’t have words really to express how grateful I am to know my God. God has done so many wonderful things for me  that there really is nothing that I can say that would be good enough to say how good he is. So all I am going to say is Thank you, thank you and thank you again Father for all of the blessings that you have bestowed upon us all. Today is friday and the sabbath starts this evening at Sunset, as you will see there won’t be any posts done by the Administrators on the things we talk about blog because of the sabbath that we intend on keeping holy. God is too good for us not to take a day off to give him all the praise and glory that he and only he deserves. Thank you all for taking the time out of your day to be a part of this blog. I hope that you truly have a blessed weekend and may God be with you everywhere that you may go.

God Bless….

The Laws of God- The 10 commandments

Will you go to heaven if you don’t follow the laws of God? We all know that we are saved by the grace of God. God loved us so much that he sent his only son to die for all of us. God promises that he is going to prepare a place for us, but the question is will we all be there, or rather exactly how do we get there. Today we are focusing on whether or not we can make it to heaven without following the laws of God, which of course consist of the 10 commandments.

For those of you that are not aware of the 10 commandments or don’t quite remember what they are or where they are found, I will provide it for you down below:

This is found in Exodus 20 in your bible:

1 And God spoke all these words:

2 ”I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

3 ”You shall have no other gods before me.

4 ”You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 ”You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

8 ”Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

12 ”Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

    13 ”You shall not murder.

14 ”You shall not commit adultery.

    15 ”You shall not steal.

16 ”You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

17 ”You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

The point that I am making by asking this question is this, so many of us go about our daily lives not really thinking about the laws that God has asked us to follow but yet we are expecting to be with him in his holy kingdom. If you don’t start following the laws now, then when will you? Tomorrow isn’t promised and God will hold each one of us accountable for our actions.

Is the bible inspired by God or is it a collection of man's ideas?

bible_picture1_4n4yOne of the things we talk about is the bible, where it came from, who wrote it and the inspiration behind it. The bible is used all over the world and it is a book that has met the test of time. There are a number of beliefs out there about who wrote the bible and whether or not it was inspired by God.

The Things We Talk About blog is focused on finding the truth and helping others discover it.
