For many years, people have been going back and forth on what day is the right day of rest. Yet, the answer is quite clear and unchangeable when you simply go back and visit the word of God, which is found in none other than the holy bible. Many people have their opinions on this matter, but the bible does make it clear. Before we even begin this topic, there is something that I must remind you. God says if we love him than we will follow his commandments. For so long so many people have been following what “man” has established and have completely forgotten about what God asks of us. So let’s go back and look at the word of God to see what he says about the day in which we should rest in him.
The Sabbath was established since the very beginning, Genesis 2:2 says, By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested [a] from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
If you pick up any calendar and look at the days of the week, you will see that the first day of the week is Sunday and the seventh day is Saturday.
In the laws given to Moses, what we know as the 10 commandments God also reminded us again the day in which he has asked us to rest, let’s take a look : Exodus 20:8
8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
You see God was already aware that people would forget about what day he had asked them to rest on, which is why he placed it as his 4th commandment. No where in the bible has God asked anyone to keep another day holy. If you can find it let us know!
When Jesus walked this earth, he also worshipped on a specific day, as we all know Jesus was a Jew and he attended the synagogue during the Sabbath, still observing the day that was set from the very beginning of time.

“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” Luke 4:16.
Many people even bring up the argument on whether the 10 commandments have been changed or abolished?
Well let’s take a look at what the bible tells us:
Jesus says: “And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.” Luke 16:17. God says: “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” Psalms 89:34. Notice, the Ten Commandments came from His lips.
So you see, according to the bible we see that God hasn’t established any other day to keep holy but the Sabbath day.
We will continue to discuss this topic further…Trust me when I say there is so much more to come.

The importance of Spiritual Growth This is the first of two devotionals developed from a 2 part session taught at Lifeline Christian fellowship on May 23, 2008 Heb 5:11 “Of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.” In the world of science there are seven main characteristics of Life. Without one of these, then there is no life. One of these characteristic is growth. A child of God, having entered a new life – the life of Christ is expected to demonstrate growth in this life. This is very important not only to the individual but also to the Church, the body of Christ, since the numerical growth of the Church is dependent on the growth of each individual. Every believer should desire to grow, such that he reaches a place in God where he can teach what he has learnt. A growing child of God, once he has been taught, will not need to be taught again but will go forth and teach that which he has learnt, thereby making disciples to Christ. This teaching is not only verbal but reflected in, actions, attitudes and lifestyles. According to 1 Pet.2:1-2, a growing Christian is one who knows how to make decisions, that is, to take actions based on what he has heard. Therefore, he will always be making decisions In order to grow one must make the following decisions: i.Watches What he says ii.Not speak evil of others iii.Have a strong passion for the word of God. Finally, a growing Christian is Spiritual. According to 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 Christians who are not showing signs of Growth are referred to as being carnal, babes, not able to receive the solid food(teachings) that they should have been receiving. No one of us as children of God should desire to fall into this category. The questions I need to ask myself this week are: i.Am I a growing Christian? ii.What comes out of my mouth? Does it represent a heart that is being changed and becoming more like Christ? iii.Can I take the Strong meat/teachings that I receive or does it offend me? Do I speak evil of others or do I seek the good in and speak well of others My challenge to you for this week is that you make a conscious effort to apply what you’ve learnt in order to help yourself grow God Bless

Mary, the mother of Jesus was indeed a virgin when she became pregnant with Jesus, but did she remain a virgin or did she also have other children? Until this day, many churches still refer to Mary, as the Virgin Mary, but the bible tells us something for different. Jesus may have been Mary’s first born child but he wasn’t the last. Let’s take a look at John 2:11-12
11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples put their faith in him.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
Ok so this proves that Jesus did in fact have brothers, so how about sisters? Check out Matthew 13:55-56
55 ”Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”
So there you have it Jesus indeed had sisters too.
Jesus is the son of God, he came down from heaven in order to save us from our sins and he does promise he’ll return again. Those who have died in Christ, like his mother Mary, and most of his disciples, shall be resurrected and will spend eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I just wanted to share this information because believe it or not, not many people are aware of this and they still hold on to the notion that Mary remained a virgin even after giving birth to Jesus, which is completely false. I hope you learned something new today.

For so many years, this has been a question that so many have tried to answer biblically. So many people have just agreed to disagree on whether Sunday is the Lord’s day. Some people just say that this is the day that the majority of people go, so it must be the right day. Some say that this is the day Jesus resurrected, which is why they go and others say that it doesn’t really matter as long as you go.
All of these answers make me wonder whether the God is clear or not on what he asked us to do and when he asked us to worship him. Today is Sunday, and I was just wondering, where exactly should I be and what exactly should I be doing. The bible is what I use as a guide for my life. It tells me right from wrong through all of God’s 10 commandments, which will never change, ever, because God’s law whether people want to believe it or not is eternal.
There are so things to think about when it comes to God and the day in which he asked his people to rest. Do we as human beings, ever have the right to change God’s law, but yet we find that so many people deliberately transgress it. In the very beginning, it said that God rested the seventh day, Genesis 2:2. In Exodus 20: 8, he not only gave in full description what should be done during the sabbath but he also said that he blessed and sanctified it. The Sabbath, which he said, to be the seventh day and not the first. Today, which is Sunday is the first day of the week, it’s almost the same day that Jesus resurrected. You see, Jesus died on a Friday, hence the reason why so many celebrate Good Friday, and he rested during the Sabbath, which was Saturday, and then he resurrected on Sunday. No where in the bible does it say we should rest, the day Jesus resurrected. Through his rest on the sabbath is again proof of what God has asked of us, which is to rest the day he asked us to. Now, my question really is, will God accept any day of rest?
God through his word has provided such strict guidelines for us, for a reason. It’s because he knows what is best for us. So many people have decided that they are just going to do what they like and say that God will accept it. The way I see it, it’s like a professor asks their students to write a research paper and gives them specific instructions and tells them to use the MLA format but instead, they decide to write what they like and use the APA format. If the professor wouldn’t accept the research paper, then why exactly would God accept just any day man decides to worship him. It just doesn’t work like that, God wants things to be done, the way he asks, period.
I’ve come across though some people that have said, that it’s too difficult to do what God asks, or rather who’s doing what God asks really?
Well believe this, there are people out there that are really trying to do what God asks, rather than finding excuses to do what he asks.
So how do you feel about what God has asked us to do?
