Are vegetarians hurting the environment just the same as meat eaters?

This is I believe to be an interesting debate that an individual brought to me. The question was whether or not vegetarians are hurting our environment because of the things they choose to eat. Now you may wonder what exactly vegetarians eat. They mostly eat lots of fruits and lots of vegetables. What they actually don’t eat depending on what kind of vegetarians they are, are meats, they usually don’t eat poultry, fish, game or any slaughtered products. Everyone has their reasoning as to why they choose to eat certain things and not to eat certain things. Being that a certain point in my life I was vegetarian not by choice but my reasons were more religious based. When I ask other people as to why to choose to be vegetarian, one of the common things they tell me is that they don’t like seeing what is done to the animals. This I can completely understand. Now the question is in a vegetarian diet, they consume a lot of fruits and vegetables, all of which comes from either plants or trees. When these vegetables are ripped from the plants and sometimes the plants die, are we not hurting the plants as well? Well the argument can very well be, who care’s it’s a plant but in actuality plants are do breathe, they do it differently but nonetheless they are alive. Plants carry out a different process called respiration on a cellular level but that doesn’t make them any less alive. I know how crazy this may sound but do you think that at some level vegetarianism is hurting our ecosystem as well?

What should I have for breakfast if I'm looking to lose weight?

For so long people have been trying to figure the best diets they can go on in order to shed a few pounds here and there, but I believe that losing weight is something that shouldn’t happen overnight, which means that dieting shouldn’t be a way to go about losing weight. I think that changing your lifestyle, changing eating habits will really help you shed those pounds and keep them off in the long run.

Here are some tasty things that you can have for breakfast if you would like to lose some weight or you just want to eat healthy.

-Before you ingest any food in the morning, drink a glass of water.

-Scrambled eggs or Omelet with onions, green peppers, but cook it in light olive oil

-Lots of fruits, such as pineapples, grapes, cantelope, watermelon- you can switch these up every morning to give you a variety

-Cereal with low fat milk- Stay away from any cereals that has lots of sugar

-Yogurt w/ side of fruit

-Oatmeal

-Muffin w/side of fruit

-If you don’t want to eat fruits, you can drink a glass of Orange Juice Instead.

Eating breakfast is imperative if you want to lose weight!!!

If you haven’t, then consider adopting new eating habits, it can save your life!

God's Health Plan For Us

Does God have a health plan for us? This is something that many people discuss and argue about all the time. Since the beginning of time God has always had a health plan for his children. In the beginning of time, God gave Adam and Eve before sin what it is that they could eat and couldn’t eat. ”And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed … and every tree … yielding seed.” “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.” Genesis 1:29; 2:16. When sin entered the Earth, the plan shifted just a bit but it still remained in the realms of things that are clean vs. those that are unclean. In Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14, it talks about all of those animals that are considered clean and those that are unclean. Those that are clean are good to eat and those that are unclean was never intended by God to be a part of our diet. For example some animals that are considered clean would be chicken, beef, fish with scales and fins, etc. Some of which are considered unclean would be pork, lobsters, shellfish, things that creep the earth, are considered to be unclean and shouldn’t be eaten. 

An additional argument that’s made was that this was only intended for the Jews and no one else. Well if we go back to the time of Noah, Noah was very well aware of the animals that were considered clean and unclean and this was obviously way before Jews were even in existence.

So what does all of this mean? What this means is that God, the creator of all things, including you knows what is good for you and what isn’t. He knows the purpose of each animal that he created and exactly what their function should be. So if you say you love God, then isn’t important to do what he asks of you.

How to properly clean your meat- poultry, beef, etc.

So many of us enjoy eating meat such as chicken, beef, etc. Many people believe it or not don’t really clean their meat and they just assume that that job has already been done for them. Well ladies and gentlemen, it is very important that prior to eating your meat, despite where it was purchased that you clean it.

So how exactly is this done you ask?

Well techniques of course vary, some meats are easier to clean than others, and there are some meat that I personally would just stay away from.

Here are some of my techniques:

1. Remove meat from package

2. Place your meat in a bowl with vinegar, let it sit for about 20 minutes.

3. Remove vinegar and proceed to clean the meat with limes and/or sour oranges. Cut the limes in 3 pieces because that makes them easier to squeeze. Make sure that you rub the limes on the meat.  You can now let the limes sit in the meat for about 10 minutes, longer if you aren’t in a rush.

4. While the limes are in the meat, boil some water in a pot.

5. Once your water is boiled you can now pour the water into the bowl that contains the meat.

6. Once you remove your limes, and you drain the meat, you should have meat that smells fresh and is ready to be seasoned.

Please don’t trust that the meats at the supermarkets are already prepped and ready to cook, it’s so much better that you do it yourself, because no one wants to eat stinky meat, or meat that hasn’t been properly cleaned.

Lemonade Frutista Freeze-Gotta try it!

Ok I’m officially addicted, I have had four lemonade frutista freeze in the past two days. Crazy, I know but really it’s very good. Trust me when I say this isn’t a promotion for taco bell and if it was then I should be getting paid, which I’m not but this is one the things that we happened to be talking about, my addiction to this lemonade frutista freeze. You guys should definitely try it out, it’s awesome.

Grilled Chicken Flatbread Pizza-Delicious!

Do you love pizza but your just tired of having to spend tons of money. Well if you are then this recipe is right for you.

All you need is the flatbread, presto sauce, your favorite shredded cheese, and pieces of grilled chicken, you can add other toppings of your choice if you want!!

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Take a pot and heat up your presto sauce, you can add extra ingredients such as some Goya Adobo, or Garlic Powder, Parsley Flakes, Thyme to give it that extra taste. Let your sauce cook for about 5-7 minutes, this is if it’s without the chicken, if you add the chicken then let it cook for about 20 minutes.

3. You can add your pieces of grilled chicken to the sauce or you can cook it in a seperate pot, it’s all up to you.  

4. Now place your sauce on your flatbread, and then place your grilled chicken on top. You can now add any other toppings you like and finally you can just add your cheese on top.

5. Once you’ve done all of this your grilled chicken flatbread pizza is ready to go into the oven. Let it cook for about 30 minutes and voila you have  a delicious dinner ready to eat.
