Hi everyone, I hope you all had a blessed weekend. Today’s topic is one of great importance and something we all should really think about each and every day to ensure that we are ready to go to heaven. For those of you that may not may not know, Jesus is coming back very soon. Looking at all the different prophecies and the way this world is going, we have to wonder how far off Jesus’s return really is. Everyday I try to ask myself, if Jesus would come today, would I be ready to go home and if I can’t confidently say “yes” then I try harder to get my life in order. Many people think that they can live their life any kind of way and they will still make into heaven’s gate, and fortunately that is not the case. God has set up standards here on this Earth for us to abide by so that when we make it to heaven we will already be used to these standards, because God’s law’s are eternal as he is. We are all saved by God’s grace and it’s up to us to choose to do his will. God is asking more of us everyday, he requires us to seek him. It’s all about what can I do today, tomorrow and the rest of my life to ensure my spot in heaven? Personally, I cannot wait until Jesus returns to take me home but just like everyone else, I have to make sure that I have my life in order in order to get there. Nothing in this life is worth losing your eternal life over. So I pray that we all take the time each and every day to order our steps in God’s word. God would love to take all of us to heaven but some of us just won’t know how to act and if we can’t do his will on this Earth, then it would be it would be impossible to do it when we get to heaven. So if you have a bible, and it’s dusty I would suggest that you dust it off and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and help you to see what it is that is required of you.
What comes to mind when we hear the words spiritual growth. The most common answer maybe wanting a closer relationship with Christ. Although this answer is a valid one, as well as others if there may be any, I have realized a lot about spiritual growth. I will focus on only one aspect of spiritual growth, and that is trust. Trust is something that many of us have gained or lost, and it’s also something that is continuous; it is every growing. Either you trust someone and your trust for that person grows, or you have lost trust and the deficiency grows, but however the direction, trust is an ever growing thing. But how many of us really trust God? Better yet, how many of us REALLY and TRULY believe there is even a God. What is a relationship without trust?
I happen to sometimes experience a trust growth and deficiency with God sometimes. Sometimes I trust Him when things are looking good from my perspective and I seem to have a good amount of control over the destiny of whatever the situation may be. But there are times when I lose trust when I can’t find a way for the situation’s destiny to work out in my favor, because I have lost control. This might be a major problem with some of us, as I’m sure some can relate. But what does that say in our belief in God? It hurts me sometimes to not trust him at all times, because then the trust seems to be a convenient thing when I already know how things will end, especially if it’s in my favor. Then if I have a convenient trust, that must mean I have a convenient God; only seeking Him and asking things of Him when I already know what the answer most likely will be. Let’s define trust, then, shall we? Merriam Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary defines trust as “1 a: to place confidence: DEPEND <~in God> <~to luck> b: to be confident: HOPE 1. To commit or place in one’s care of keeping: ENTRUST b: to permit to stay or go to do something without fear or misgiving 2 a: to rely on the truthfulness or accuracy of: BELIEF b: to place confidence in: rely on c: to hope or expect confidently
Do we see these definitions? And it’s awesome how the bible does back up each and every one. Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need.” How is that that the Lord bids us to come boldly to Him when we know we don’t even deserve to ask anything of Him! As sinful and filthy beings, we are to trust that whatsoever we ask in His name and it is in His will, he will grant it to us.
We all have our different ways of dealing with stress from school, work and our day to day encounters. Many people struggle to cope with these stressful moments. There are many things that one can do to be mind free for at least a split moment. Music is recognized to be a good therapeutic agent. Whenever I am not in a good mood or just not feeling like myself, I pop in a CD into my car radio if I am driving or play something from my computer if I am at home. Listening to music helps me to calm down. I think music should be part of our spiritual growth journey. Sometimes you may be going through something and can’t think of anyone to turn to, not because you don’t have any friends or siblings but because they may not understand what it is that you are going through. And sometimes there is this one song that you can listen to that will let you know that whatever it may be that you are going through, there is someone who will always understands. He will not criticize you when you are down; rather he will raise you up above all by giving you the strength that you need to go on. There is this song by Gaither Vocal band I have learned to love “When I cry” Listen to it carefully at the end of this post. The music we listen to sometimes help us to realize things that we have lost track of. Share with us your therapeudic agent, what do you do to cope with stress or when you are going through something.
Forgiveness, is probably one of the hardest things that humanity may have to do. When someone hurts us, innately we have a drive to simply hurt them back. It is definitely a battle to supress those innate feelings that seem to take over us anytime we are confronted with a situation that requires us to forgive. For some they may say that forgivenss doesn’t entail that we forget, but is that really true. Can you truly say you have forgiven someone if you plan on not forgetting what they have done? I guess the more pertinent question is should there be any given circumstances in which someone just doesn’t deserve to be pardoned or forgiven. For instance, if someone raped your sister, would you forgive them? If someone stole your car, would you forgive them? If someone killed someone close to you, would you find it in your heart to forgive them? Under what circumstances is forgiveness granted and under what circumstances is it not? Should we not forgive our fellow man irregardless of the situation, I mean God does forgive us despite what the situation is. Please comment below and let us know your thoughts.
By the way…I just want to take a few to give shoutouts to all of our readers, without all of you this blog wouldn’t be. I hope that we can all gain some deeper insight from these topics. Love you all!
Lately I’ve been finding myself going through some tough times and I’ve been trying to do things on my own and trying to find my own way but time and time again I am reminded of how I can’t do things on my own and how I should always let God take control and do things his own special way. Now I know many can relate to what I’m saying and that is why just like a friend shared this with me, I feel compelled to share it with all of you…so with that said enjoy!
So many times, I find myself wondering exactly how exactly God will make a way out of what seems to be no way. I’m not sure how many of you may feel like this but I find this to be more times than I can actually count. The saddest part of all is that anytime I find myself in a situation and I really don’t know how it will turn out, I begin to doubt and forget at how good God has been to me and how he has done things for me beyond my wildest dreams. You see, God ask us to do something that is so simple, which is trust and believe in him and know that he will never let us down, you see where God sits on his throne, no one can move him. He reigns forever and despite what life may throw our way, he is ultimately in control. To say that we will not go through rough patches is an understatement, sometimes I feel like the devil will continously test us to see if we will forget how good God truly is but we just have to remember that the devil is a liar and that he never wins in any battle against the True and Faithful. Now one thing I know I have struggled with is, I’m doing everything that God is asking me to do but yet I still feel like God isn’t answering my prayers, what is that about? Well, I think it goes back to what I have said before God works in ways that is simply beyond our imaginations. God answers prayers and does things on his time and that’s just something that we can’t change but we can learn to appreciate because God knows what we need and when we need it. Again he will never let us down, so we shouldn’t let him down by not believing in his power. I know we all go through things in this life that can make us start to wonder about the power of God, but it is so important that we bring ourselves back to those times where he has made a way when we knew there was absolutely no way. I just want to thank God for all of the things he has done and will continue to do on my behalf in my life. I hope you all can do the same! God Bless!
