Who will be number 1 this weekend? April 24, 2009, the movie The Soloist, which is starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. is going to be in theaters and also the movie Obsessed starring Beyonce Knowles. I have been waiting to watch these two movies but they both come out the same day. I wonder if Jamie’s comments on Miley Cyrus will affect the outcome of his movie. I don’t know if some people won’t go and see it just because of what he said about 16 year old Miley, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see which movie turns up number 1 in the box office this weekend. I think I might go see Obsessed first and then consider The Soloist, sorry Jamie, B wins in this one. I just hope I made the right decision.
Last night, the new Miss USA 2009 was crowned in Las Vegas. Her name is Kristin Dalton and she is from North Carolina. She is a 22 year old aspiring motivational speaker from Wilmington. “It feels really natural,” Dalton said of her win. “I’ve worked so be here and this has been my lifelong dream and it’s finally here. And whoever knew you could win in a turquoise gown?”
Yes, I know turquoise, who knew you could win a turquoise gown.
Miss USA’s title comes with a year of living in a swanky New York apartment, a public relations team, a two-year scholarship at the New York Film Academy and an undisclosed salary. Later, she will also compete in the the Miss Universe pageant and hopefully she doesn’t fall like the others did in the past years.
So tonight’s bottom three were Anoop, Lil Rounds and Matt. And oh for those of you that missed the show, the judges finally used their save on Matt and that means two people are going home next week. Lil Rounds came close since it was her and Matt in the bottom two. Although Simon said that Matt had no chance of winning the competition but he ended the show on a good note by saying that he would be saved. Yay Matt, I think he did a good job singing tonight to save his singing career. Who knows, he might still be around for a few more weeks, so no one goes home tonight America, but be sure to tune in next week to find out what two go.
Well, while I was looking at one of my favorite sites, to see what was happening in the entertainment world, i came across a few articles on mediatakeout.com about Chris and Rihanna. According to them and their sources, they said that Chris Brown is dating or was seen leaving a tattoo parlor with Natalie, the one from Girlicious from the CW, that had only that one song and video come out (just a side note), and when Rihanna saw those pics surface on the web, she became enraged and decided to end it for good with Chris Brown. I guess they had some agreement not to date anyone while until everything was under wraps but apparently Chris Brown just doesn’t give a you know what. So, his mom and some other family members were seen leaving Rihanna’s house with some suitcases, supposedly full of his stuff. I think it’s about time, that she let’s him go, he doesn’t even deserve her. And if he was planning on making a move on another girl, he should have at lease waited until his case was close, dumb dumb.
Watch the trailer of Obsessed, starring Beyonce Knowles~
I cannot wait to go and watch this movie, the previews and trailers have really gotten me excited to go and watch it, but I just hope that I’m not disappointed. I never really imagine Beyonce being that outraged and angry but when it comes to your family, we all know that will make any woman lose their temper and their mind. I hope that this movie is all that it seems to be and not an utter disappointment. I will definitely come back and write about how I feel, without spoiling it for you all of course that may not get a chance to check it out opening weekend.
Last night, things were a little different on American Idol, a little out of whack that is. Two judges were only able to critique one singer, that means that Simon wasn’t able to make his piece on everyone’s performance. Poor Simon! The whole show was dedicated to movie music and they had Quentin Tarantino as their mentor. Last night there was a bit of drama though, between Lil Rounds and Simon, poor girl is probably heading home since she can’t seem to get Simon on her good side. Lil Rounds sang “The Rose” by Bette Middler, her version at least and she failed to impress none other than Simon. Simon said “the song was too middle of the road, too soft.” And again told her that she wasn’t the singer that they first met. She responded by saying that she thought it was pretty good. Allison Iraheta, actually did her thing, when she sang Aerosmith’s, I Don’t to Miss a Thing from the movie Armageddon. Anoop Desai sang a song from the movie Robin Hood, and got pretty good reviews from Kara. Adam Lambert, the rock star, which sand “Born to be Wild” got some good reviews. I’m guessing he’s probably Paula’s favorite. Kris Allen sang “Falling Slowly”, Kara loved it, Randy not so much. Matt Giraud, on the piano, sang “Have you ever loved a woman” by Bryan Adam’s, Randy loved it, Kara not so much. Danny Gokey, sang “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie, Simon wasn’t impressed and Paula, well you know she basically loves it all, said it was a beautiful rendition. Well ladies and gents this wraps up American Idol last night, now we have to wait and see who goes home tonight.
